A Tradition Built on Experience & Excellence

In 1993, Southern Shutters opened its doors in North Austin as Southern Shutters. We rented a building previously used to clean ball-bearings off Howard Lane and N. I35. The space was odd shaped, with cleaning vats built into the floor. Due to increasing demand, space quickly became an issue. In the early years, we relied on larger companies to supply us with raw shutter panels. However, we needed to control every aspect of the shutters we were installing. This sent us off to find land upon which we could build our own manufacturing facilities and thus control all aspects of production.

In early 1996, we purchased property east of Austin, in Manor, Texas. Plans were drawn up with an eye towards efficient use of space and maximizing quality output. In November of 1997, and we moved into our present-day factory on Beltex Drive in Manor and we incorporated our name as Southern Shutters, Inc.

For 15 years, Southern Shutters provided quality products via in-home consultation only. In 2008, we opened our showroom in Georgetown, Texas.

Our showroom has full sized working samples of our shutters in different configurations. Now the modern-day Southern Shutters provides in-home consultations that conclude with a quote on the spot and in your email inbox. Our showroom provides a comfortable location where you can become familiar with all the products and services Southern Shutters offers.
