Now that spring is here and the weather is warming up, it may be time to put your air conditioners back on and jump into the pool to cool down. When you’re inside, though, it is important to make sure that your home stays as cool as possible, as to not waste any valuable air or any of your valuable money. Making sure your home is energy efficient is important, and we want to give you a few tips in order to make that happen.
One thing you can do to make your home more energy efficient is to clean the glass on your windows, as well as the window’s surroundings. One way to do this that is also friendly to the earth is to use one part vinegar and four parts water, and clean your windows with a sponge. Another way to be more energy efficient is to caulk all the gaps and cracks your window may have. This is an excellent way to make sure that the cool air stays in, and the warm air stays out.
Investing in heavy curtains is another excellent way to make your home more energy efficient when it comes to your windows. To keep it green and relatively low cost, you can find some second-hand curtains, and remember to make sure the fall a good length below the window, preferably down to the floor. Make sure you draw the curtains whenever you are not in the room, as this is an excellent way to make sure that the cool air stays in and warm air stays out.
Making sure your home and windows are energy efficient is a wonderful way to save yourself a lot of money and hassle during these warmer months! We hope these tips have helped, and that you are able to execute them in a way that changes your home for the better!
